Italian cruise line Costa Cruises established an official partnership with football club Juventus. Onboard Costa Serena on Wednesday, January 31, it was announced that the partnership will provide unique services to appeal to more Chinese passengers.
Guests boarding Costa Serena can start their "football at sea" trip, along with firsthand look into Juventus Experience. It includes a visit to an outdoor mini football field, kids club with Juventus Theme, Juventus Academy for children aged 5-14 and Juventus Museum.
Costa is the first international cruise line to operate homeport voyages in the Chinese market since 2006 and intends to become a Chinese cruise market's leader.
Last year, China saw slowdown in cruise market after a decade of growth according to China Cruise & Yacht Industry Association.
The Costa Cruises company continues to enhance passenger onboard experience to meet the evolving needs of Chinese travelers, such as offering more Chinese cuisine, adding new routes to Vietnam and Philippines, and hiring more staff speaking Mandarin Chinese.
