The newest ferry of Halifax Transit, Vincent Coleman, is to undergo a round of sea trials in Halifax harbour after it was tested in ocean swells off the southern coast of Nova Scotia.
Vincent Coleman is the 4th of 5 new ferries the municipality is currently using to replace the aging ferry fleet.
Vincent Coleman, Viola Desmond, Craig Blake and Christopher Stannix were built at A.F. Theriault & Son Ltd. boatyard (Meteghan, N.S.). The 5th ferry, Rita Joe, is due to be ready by August 2018.
One set of sea trials for Vincent Coleman have been completed while at the boatyard.
