Following her inaugural season in the Caribbean, Holland America Line’s upcoming ms Nieuw Statendam will cross the Atlantic in April next year and spend the summer and fall season in northern Europe and Mediterranean.
The new Pinnacle-class vessel will homeport in Amsterdam during the summer. In September it will head to warmer Mediterranean waters on a 12-day voyage from Amsterdam to Civitavecchia-Rome. Three 10-day roundtrip sailings will explore eastern and western Mediterranean. The ship will then depart Rome on October 27 for a 14-day voyage back to Fort Lauderdale FL.
Once in Amsterdam, ms Nieuw Statendam will sail 7 and 14-day itineraries. A couple of different 7-day voyages offering 9 departures from May through September will visit some of the most popular ports in the country, and feature multiple cruising experiences.
A 14-day Norwegian exploration will depart on June 9 and July 7, featuring 8 ports in Norway while crossing into Arctic Circle. Passengers will also enjoy scenic cruising in Geirangerfjord, Hardangerfjord, Sognefjord and the North Cape.
The Baltic awaits on a pair of 14-day itineraries in May and August, roundtrip from Amsterdam. The ship wiil make stops in Copenhagen, Aarhus, Berlin, Hamburg, Tallinn, St. Petersburg, Helsinki, and Stockholm.
Those passengers looking to visit the British Isles and Iceland can embark ms Nieuw Statendam on August 4 for a 14-day trip to Newcastle upon Tyne and South Queenferry (Edinburgh) for an overnight allowing guests to attend Edinburgh Military Tattoo, Reykjavik, Isafjordur, Akureyri, Alesund and Bergen.
In September, the cruise ship will sail from Amsterdam to Rome on a 12-day journey visiting Ireland, Portugal, and 4 Spanish ports. There will then be a couple of 10-day cruises roundtrip from Rome to Croatia, Montenegro, Greece, and Italy. Another 10-day cruise will visit ports in Spain, France, Monaco, Italy and Gibraltar.
On October 27 ms Nieuw Statendam will head to Florida on a 14-day trip that visits Cartagena, Malaga, Cadiz and Ponta Delgada.
The Premiere voyage of the liner will depart Rome December 5, 2018 for a 14-day transatlantic cruise to Fort Lauderdale FL. Nieuw Statendam will spend the winter and spring on sailings from Fort Lauderdale including 3- and 4-day Bahamas cruises, 7-day eastern and western Caribbean voyages, and one 10-day southern Caribbean trip.
11 to 17-day Collectors’ Voyages are also offered, combining back-to-back Caribbean itineraries. All Caribbean cruises of the ship call at HAL’s private island in Bahamas, Half Moon Cay.
