The newest cruise ship in the fleet of Viking Ocean Cruises, Viking Sun, arrived in Australia for the first time.
Viking Sun debuted in November and made her maiden voyage Down Under arriving from New Zealand in Australia on Thursday, February 8, on a journey that started in Miami FL in December 2017 and will conclude in London UK.
The 930-passenger small class ship, sister of Viking Star, Viking Sky and Viking Sea, made her first Australia port call in Melbourne and arrived in Sydney on Saturday, February 10, docking at White Bay Cruise Terminal, Rozelle. The vessel will then make her way north on Sunday to Brisbane, Darwin and Cairns, before heading to Indonesia.
Viking Cruises will begin home-porting its fleet Down Under from December with the next ship the cruise line will launch later in 2018, Viking Orion.
Viking Jupiter will be launched in 2019, bringing the fleet size to 6. With its six 930-passenger ships, Viking will become the largest small ship ocean cruise line in the world.
