The newest ship of Hurtigruten, MS Roald Amundsen, was launched in Ulsteinvik, Norway on Saturday, February 17. The vessel will sail an expedition voyage to include the Antarctic, Arctic and Norwegian coast.
MS Roald Amundsen will be put into service this year, while sister ship, MS Fridtjof Nansen, also under construction at Kleven shipyard, follows in 2019.
MS Roald Amundsen will take passengers to Antarctica, Svalbard and Alaska, through the Northwest Passage following the footsteps of Roald Amundsen, as well as on expedition sailings along the coast of Norway.
