Celebrity Cruises cancelled December 3 four-day (three-night) preview sailing for its upcoming newbuild, Celebrity Edge, due to "unforeseen changes.”
In early January the cruise company had announced a new lineup for the debut sailings of the ship when it reported construction was ahead of schedule. These consisted of 2 alternating 7-night inaugural cruises, as well as a number of 3-night Edge Preview Cruises.
According to Celebrity, passengers currently booked in the canceled sailing can choose to rebook on one of the following, in like accommodations, at protected (lowest) available rate: 3-Night Preview Cruise departing Nov 21, Nov 24, Dec 1 and Dec 6, 2018.
Passengers can also choose to rebook on Celebrity Infinity on any 4-night Bahamas cruise or 5-night western Caribbean voyage (excluding holiday trips).
Guests who rebook receive a US$100 onboard credit per standard stateroom, US$200 per suite. Additionally, if a passenger booked with Celebrity Cruises promotion, the cruise line said that it will honor the offer for the rebooked voyage.
If the passenger has to change airline reservations, Celebrity will reimburse for any change fees up to US$250 per person for domestic/international flights. To receive the reimbursement, passengers must provide the cruise line with a copy of air change fees assessed.
Passengers who choose not to rebook receive full refund for amounts paid to the original payment form.
