Luxury cruise line Cunard is about to take on an Aussie flavour, announcing a series of partnerships with leading companies from Australia ahead of record season Down Under for its Queen Elizabeth.
Under the move, Cunard Line joins forces with 4 key brands during the 2-month Australian season aboard Queen Elizabeth in February-March 2019, including fashion brand R.M.Williams, Australia’s Akubra hats, boutique whisky distillery STARWARD based in Melbourne, national dance company Australian Dance Theatre.
The move will see the famous Bellboys of Cunard swap their trademark red & black uniforms for new Australian outfit designed by R.M.Williams and Akubra, worn throughout the local season on Queen Elizabeth.
Under the partnership with STARWARD, ship’s top decks will become home to a very special cargo, 225-litre barrel of Australian whisky, known as The Seafarer. The whisky, which was loaded in Sydney, will spend 12 months sailing the world on the open decks of Queen Elizabeth before it is opened in February 2019 at the start of ship’s Australian season.
Meanwhile, the longest-running contemporary dance company in Australia, Australian Dance Theatre, will also be presented onboard. The partnership of ADT with Cunard Line will create the line’s first ever special event voyage in Australian waters, featuring a performance of “The Beginning of Nature”, ADT’s latest international work, along with movement classes and special workshops for passengers.
