Passengers onboard a Norwegian Cruise Line ship witnessed rescue fitting of ship’s name.
As the Norwegian Epic cruise ship sailed close to the Bahamas Tuesday night (March 6) on her final night at sea, a passenger went over the rail into the ocean. Passengers identified the traveler as an adult woman.
The crew immediately launched a life boat in order to search the water around the vessel.
Using lights from the life boat and the liner, rescuers found the passenger and managed to pull her to safety. The woman was taken back to NCL Epic where she was evaluated by the medical staff.
Norwegian Cruise Line announced the woman was stable. Her name was not released.
The ship sailed back to Cape Canaveral early Wednesday where passengers disembarked.
No further information was available.
