CMV Travel & Leisure Group announced the acquisition of Pacific Eden from P&O Australia.
The new name of Eden will be announced on March 20 and the vessel will join the expanding fleet of CMV with delivery in Singapore early April 2019 followed by a docking period to include re-brand, livery change and preparatory works before positioning westbound to Northern Europe through the Suez Canal on her inaugural cruise.
Continuing the line's explorer theme, 4 distinguished explorers were shortlisted for the new name of the ship and Columbus Club Members and the travel trade were invited to cast their vote. The shortlist includes Amerigo Vespucci, Henry Hudson, Pytheas and Vasco da Gama.
The new vessel will be deployed and dedicated to both the Australasian and German cruise markets. During summer months (May-October) Pacific Eden will operate under the German brand of CMV, TransOcean Kreuzfahrten homeporting from Bremerhaven and Kiel. During the Australian summer season (December-March) from Adelaide and Fremantle (Perth) offering a more traditional cruise experience.
The 55820 GT ship will carry 1150 passengers in 630 staterooms (including 100 singles, 149 balcony suites and cabins with 80% oceanview ratio).
