Carnival Corporation announced that its Carnival Splendor cruise ship is leaving Los Angeles for her new Australian home.
The 3000-passenger vessel will be based at the Overseas Passenger Terminal in Sydney, sailing in Australia year-round from December 2019.
Before arriving down under, Carnival Splendor is scheduled for a revamp, including a complete upgrade during drydock, adding brand new dining experiences tailored to the Australian tastes along with a new water park.
An older Carnival cruise ship, Carnival Spirit, has been based in Port of Sydney since 2012. Reports had previously suggested that Splendor would join the fleet of P&O Australia, also owned by Carnival Corporation.
The first cruise of Carnival Splendor from Sydney will commence in December 2019 after a repositioning voyage from Singapore.
