American Cruise Lines announced the name of the 2nd ship in line's new Modern Riverboat Series (a sibling to the upcoming American Song) - American Harmony. The company started the boat's construction on February 27, 2018.

The first ship in the series, American Song, makes her inaugural cruise on October 6, 2018 along the Mississippi River. Last week, one of American Cruise Lines' paddlewheelers, America, kicked off 2018 Mississippi River season, out of New Orleans. By October 2018, the cruise line will have 3 newly built vessels plying the Mississippi: a couple of paddlewheelers along with the first Modern Riverboat.

When she debuts next year, American Harmony will take over on Mississippi for het sibling American Song, which will reposition to Columbia and Snake Rivers for 2019. The expansion of the cruise line will see it have 3 distinct ship styles and 2 Modern Riverboats cruising along two of the most popular rivers in America.
