MSC Cruises will sail for the first time to Cuba from the United States.
The Geneva-based cruise line unveiled its plans to launch regular, 7-day cruises from Miami FL on MSC Armonia that will spend 2 nights in Havana.
The sailings are scheduled to start on December 10. Previously, the MSC Armonia cruise ship was based in Havana.
Like other cruise lines sailing to Cuba from the United States, MSC calls in Cuba will comply with the regulations of the US Department of Treasury, meaning that shore excursions can't be for general tourism and have to comply with the requirement for people-to-people educational exchange activities as set forth in the United States regulations.
MSC announced the 2,065-passenger MSC Armonia will leave PortMiami on Mondays, with the vessel then visiting Montego Bay, George Town Harbour and Cozumel before arriving in the Cuban capital on Saturdays and staying through to Sundays. Upon departing Havana, the vessel will return to Miami FL.
Via the addition of Armonia, MSC will have 3 ships sailing in winter from Miami, including MSC Seaside on 7-day voyages and MSC Divina on 10- and 11-day sailings.
