A new cruise terminal proposed for PortMiami by Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings officially got the green light to start construction.
The Miami-Dade County and Miami-based cruise line reached an agreement for the new terminal on Tuesday, April 10, settling on a location east of existing Terminals B and C. It puts the new Norwegian terminal west of Terminal A, where Royal Caribbean is also building its new PortMiami terminal.
The new NCL terminal, in conjunction with the company's current location at Terminals B and C, will provide Norwegian with the space to berth a couple of 5,000-passenger ships at once. It is slated for completion by early November 2019, that is just in time for the arrival of line's newest ship, Norwegian Encore.
