Star chef Nobu Matsuhisa will be headlining a food-themed foodie cruise aboard Crystal Serenity in June.
Luxury line Crystal said the famed restaurateur will lead cooking demonstrations and mingle with cruise passengers starting June 19 as Serenity sails on a 12-night Baltic itinerary.
Matsuhisa will also be making appearances at ship's Silk Road restaurant & Sushi Bar, that he designed in partnership with the cruise line.
The cruise will include a couple of Matsuhisa-led "Omakase" dinners (extra-charge) with sake pairings selected by sake master Fumio Hazu (creator of the exclusive sake served at Matsuhisa's Nobu eateries).
The trademark Japanese-Peruvian fusion cuisine of Matsuhisa has been served complimentary at restaurants on two main ships of the cruise line, Crystal Symphony (since 2003) and Crystal Serenity (since 2008). Matsuhisa trains the chefs and designs the new menus for the eateries.
The 12-night Baltic Bliss cruise kicks off in Stockholm and includes visits to Helsinki, Saint Petersburg, Tallinn, Warnemunde, and Copenhagen. The voyage ends in London.
Fares start at US$4,785 per person, double occupancy.
