2018 cruise ship season in Halifax officially started on Sunday, April 22, with the arrival of Hurtigruten's ms Fram, according to Halifax Port Authority news release.
This season could be another record year for the port. The port authority revealed there were 200 scheduled ship calls, potentially carrying around 300,000 passengers during 2018 cruising season.
A total of 10 inaugural visits are scheduled. There will be 3 calls during the year by the Disney Magic ship and one by RMS Queen Mary 2 on October 5.
The busiest day will be October 9, with over 11,000 cruise passengers expected to arrive onboard 5 ships.
