Prince Edward Island 2018 cruise season kicks off on May 2, 2018 with a visit by Holland America’s ms Veendam.
This will be the first ever year to exceed 100,000 cruise passengers. It is estimated that a total of 92 ship visits carrying more than 117,000 travelers and 51,000 crew will come, making this the largest cruise season yet for the island.
And with it comes a significant impact to the local economy. The cruise season, with anticipated numbers, is projecting US$19.5 million impact on the economy, the largest impact to date.
In addition to Prince Edward Island record-breaking season, 7 ships will make inaugural visits, including Royal Princess, that will carry the most cruise passengers ever to visit the Island on one ship. Royal Princess is due to arrive in Port of Charlottetown on October 2, which will also be the first 4-ship day in the city.
The season wraps up with a visit by Silver Wind on November 4.
