A 71-year-old passenger in ill health has been rescued from a Royal Caribbean cruise ship Friday evening, April 27.
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) aircrew responded to a call onboard Anthem of the Seas. A man suffering from kidney failure aboard the ship was medevaced approx 51 miles east of Ocean City.
The ship's captain requested medical evaluation at 6:20 p.m. An MH-65 Dolphin helicopter aircrew out of Air Station Atlantic City was launched to assist the ailing passenger.
The man was hoisted aboard the helicopter and then brought to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Atlantic City.
