Municipal transport company GVB said a technical defect might have caused the crash. They added that the left screw might have been broken, but had to investigate that properly.
The police had ferry's driver do breathalyzer test. He wasn't under the influence of alcohol.
The Amsterdam Noord-Amsterdam Central Station ferry service continued running on Sunday with fewer ferries due to the investigation.
