Genting Cruise Line's brands Dream Cruises and Star Cruises partnered with Wirecard in order to deliver a seamless payment process enhancing guest experience onboard their fleet of ships.
The new partnership is due to provide the basis for Self-Checkout System called Quick Pay, implemented onboard Dream Cruises’ Genting Dream and World Dream, and to be launched on SuperStar Virgo shortly.
By using the Quick Pay, passengers onboard Dream Cruises can control their own finances during the trip including managing accounts for family and friends, monitoring consumption during the voyage, setting up pre-authorized spending limits, and settling their bill at the end of the journey.
Guests can set up their own Quick Pay by scanning QR codes that are available during check-in or in cabins or via connecting onto the onboard ship internet network and selecting Quick Pay option. A range of payment choices are offered including Alipay, American Express, Diners Club, JCB, Mastercard, Union Pay and Visa with more methods to be added soon.
To settle their account, passengers can opt to AutoPay as part of pre-authorization function for hands-free express check-out or can manually pay any outstanding charges via the Pay Now function.
