Carnival Corporation signed a strategic partnership with holding company Meraas (based in Dubai) to develop Dubai Cruise Terminal.
The new partnership aims to grow region's maritime tourism and transform Dubai into major maritime tourism hub.
Due to open in October 2020, the cruise terminal will serve as the main hub for Dubai's cruise tourism and will become the primary hub of Carnival Corporation for its transit and homeporting operations in the region.
Carnival Corporation and Meraas signed the strategic agreement at an official ceremony with His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum in attendance. Under the agreement, Carnival will assist Meraas in ensuring the facility meets the highest international standards of cruise industry.
Both companies will collaborate across a number of strategic areas such as terminal management, port development and new cruise development at Dubai Harbour and the region.
