Following a month-long tour around the US (May 30-June 2) with previews in New York, Miami and LA, Norwegian Cruise Line's long-anticipated vessel, Norwegian Bliss, was officially christened on Wednesday, May 30, in her summer home of Port Seattle.
Norwegian Bliss was welcomed with sky-high water-canon salute by Seattle Fire Department, as she cruised into the port. The christening ceremony took place onboard the ship, for another NCL first. Led by The Morning Show crew and the godfather, Elvis Duran, nearly 2,400 people witnessed the ceremony as it was broadcasted throughout the vessel, making it an interactive experience.
Norwegian Bliss will commence her inaugural season with week-long cruises to Alaska beginning June 2. She will join Norwegian Pearl and Norwegian Jewel as the youngest fleet ever to cruise to Alaska.
In October Bliss will sail select cruises to the Mexican Riviera from LA. For her fall/winter season, the ship will sail to the Eastern Caribbean from Miami FL, and in 2019 she will sail from NYC to the Bahamas and Florida, Southern and Western Caribbean.
