Liverpool Cruise Terminal is due to welcome 25 different ships in June and July, 2018 generating an estimated GBP 2.6 million for the city centre economy.
The cruisers will carry a total of 17,348 crew and 37,317 passengers which means over 50,000 people could be coming ashore over the 2-month period.
Highlights include the Celebrity Eclipse cruise ship, which returns for an overnight visit June 12-13 and the return of Princess Cruises’ flagship, Royal Princess, on June 10.
The jewel in the crown is the return of Cunard’s Queen Elizabeth July 23, which coincides with the 80th anniversary of the launch of Cunard’s RMS Mauretania II from Cammell Laird, Birkenhead.
Near the current facility work is now under way on the new permanent GBP 50 million cruise terminal that will mean even more ships visiting the port city.
