Windstar added more late-night port calls and overnights to its itineraries. Currently, more than 45% of Windstar’s voyages offer a late night (10:00 p.m. or later) or overnight in cruise port that allows travellers more time in each destination. Windstar features a total of 299 cruise ports in 79 different countries, Signature Expeditions as well as a variety of newly curated activities, entertainment and new culinary experiences.
Overnight and multi-night stays at well-known destinations around the globe include Saint Petersburg, Seville, Venice, Bordeaux, Quebec, Saigon and Hong Kong. There are around 20 ports with multi-night/overnight stays offered onboard Windstar ships and an additional 3 “turn ports” with overnights, meaning passengers embark/disembark there.
Some port calls such as Monte Carlo, Portofino, Cadiz and Mykonos, among others, aren't overnight, but feature departures at 10:00 p.m. or later, which leaves enough time to seek out the local restaurants and clubs. In some spots, special evening tours and events are arranged.
Windstar’s itineraries allow guests to explore art, historic sites and vineyards by day and they can bike, hike or engage in active shore trips before enjoying evening entertainment onboard or in town. With late-night and overnight port calls, passengers can explore new dining experiences and nightlife that would not be available on other line's itineraries.
On select sailings (and more than 125 cruises in 2018-2019), passengers can enjoy Destination Discovery Events thatare complimentary events scheduled in the evening hours to not disrupt shore trips or other guest plans.
