STENA LINE revealed it will bring a new cruiseferry on the route Holyhead-Dublin. The company confirmed that the first of its new-built RoPax ferries (Stena Estrid / currently under construction in China) is due to enter service on this Irish Sea route in early 2020.
The "Stena E-Flexer" class ferry Estrid will replace Superfast X on the route.
The newbuild will feature capacity for 1000 travelers, 120 cars and 3100 freight lanemeters. It will deliver 4 daily trips with an estimated crossing time of approx 3.5 hours.
In 2017, Stena Line announced a contract for a new generation of RoPax ferry ships, with planned deliveries during 2020-2021.
Stena Line has ordered the building of 6 new vessels from AVIC Shipyard in China. The plan is to locate 3 of the ships on company's Irish Sea routes.
