Ponant took delivery of the first of its 6 exceptional Ponant Explorers series' ships, Le Laperouse, on June 15.
Construction of the other 5 vessels is currently under way. MV Le Laperouse left the shipyard in Alesund Norway, on June 16. The cruise ship will reach Reykjavik Iceland on June 19 for the start of her maiden voyage. The inauguration will take place on July 10 in Reykjavik.
Featuring smaller capacity with only 92 staterooms and suites all of which with a private terrace or balcony, the vessel boasts a stylish design, long sleek line, major innovations and state-of-the-art technology. Also designed to respect the environment, Le Laperouse is the symbol of a new generation of cruise ships flying the French flag.
The 6 Ponant Explorers will feature the “Blue Eye”, a world-first innovative multi-sensorial underwater lounge that will allow passengers to experience the underwater world through two portholes in the form of a cetaceous eye.
