Princess Cruises’ ship Golden Princess returns to Melbourne in October 2018 for her summer season with new features following ship's multi-million dollar refurbishment in May as the line prepares to celebrate ten years since the first summer season out of Victoria.
Golden Princess will complete nine roundtrip itineraries out of Melbourne to New Zealand as part of line's biggest ever season in New Zealand.
For younger travellers during school holidays, the cruiser now offers transformed youth centres as part of the Discovery at Sea program. Specially designed via partnership with Discovery™, these centres have been created with kids and teens in mind, encouraging new friendships and supporting creativity through play.
Golden Princess will be among the first in the fleet of Princess to roll out the latest update of Across the Ditch program, further immersing passengers in New Zealand cuisine and culture via interactive and engaging activities, both onboard and ashore.
In preparation for the Melbourne homeport of Golden Princess, celebrity Italian chef, Angelo Auriana partnered with the cruise line to enhance the signature restaurant, Sabatini’s Italian Trattoria. New menu offerings combine old-world grains with non-traditional ingredients, and boast handmade pasta dishes by family recipes from Italian chefs across Princess fleet.
Other enhanced features aboard Golden Princess include a new Movies Under the Stars screen with extreme wide-angle and advanced outdoor light sensors. Every cabin has been fitted with award-winning Princess Luxury Bed developed exclusively for Princess Cruises by US sleep expert Dr Michael Breus.
Golden Princess is due to arrive in Melbourne to commence Summer Cruise Season 2018-2019 on October 25, 2018.
