A passenger onboard a Cunard Line's cruise ship has been removed due to medical emergency and transported to local hospital Friday evening, July 6.
At 6:15 p.m. the Coast Guard command received a call about a 32-year-old female having unknown medical emergency onboard RMS Queen Mary 2 as the liner was leaving New York close to Breezy Point in Queens (NYC).
A 29-foot boat was launched to meet the cruiser. However, a 45-foot one was also launched in order to accommodate the medevac. FDNY personnel were onboard the 45-foot boat.
The Coast Guard boat met responders at Homeport Pier on Front Street. According to an FDNY spokesman, the woman was transported to Staten Island University Hospital, Ocean Breeze, in stable condition.
