Queen Elizabeth’s 7th visit to Liverpool will take place later in July. The special occasion will be marked by a sail away show that will take place on Pier Head.
The latest call of the ship marks the 80th anniversary of launch of Cunard Line’s 2nd Mauretania at Cammell Laird’s shipyard in Birkenhead July 1938.
The show will be taking place on Cruise Berth on Monday, July 23, at 4:30 p.m., and will feature a variety of musical performances, including award winning Danielle Louise Thomas (Liverpool mezzo soprano), followed by a confetti show and farewell as the liner sails onto her next experiences in Dublin and Guernsey prior to returning to Southampton.
A viewing area will be available to spectators at Princes Parade.
Earlier the same day, Queen Elizabeth’s visit and the anniversary will be marked by a service at Liverpool Parish Church led by Revd Dr Crispin Pailing, Rector of Liverpool. The service starts at 11:00 a.m.
