As changes are currently being made to annual Mackinac Bridge walk for 2018, area businesses are offering a new option to get guests back to their vehicle.
For the first time buses will not be available to take people back to the vehicles after they walk Mackinac Bridge during Labor Day event.
Star Line Mackinac Island Ferry announced it will be offering ferry rides between Mackinaw City and St Ignace. Each of the ferries holds 500 people and leaves once per hour between 6:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 3.
This way people will be able to walk the bridge's entire length and still get back to their cars while the bridge is closed.
Ferries will leave from dock no.1 in Mackinac City and dock no.3 in St Ignace. The price is US$20 for adults, US$10 for children 5-12 and free for kids under 5. Parking costs US$10.
