U.S. Coast Guard aircrew has transported a 71-year-old female passenger to the hospital on Sunday, September 2, after the woman suffered head injury while onboard a Princess Cruises ship close to Yaquina Bay (Newport, Oregon).
The team had been called out at about 5:00 a.m. on reports that a cruise passenger of Grand Princess had suffered head injury.
The USCG hoisted the woman up to MH-65 Dolphin helicopter and took her to Newport OR to get medical help.
Officials revealed the ship was around 35 nautical miles from Yaquina Bay when Coast Guard responded to the airlift.
No word on the current condition of the passenger. She received treatment from first responders once the USCG helicopter made it back to shore.
