According to Dutch emergency services, dozens of ill passengers onboard a cruise ship that moored in Port Rotterdam were kept onboard for treatment.
The sickened travelers were onboard AIDAperla, which arrived in the port Thursday morning, September 20.
Ship’s operator, AIDA Cruises, revealed in a statement that crew had increased hygiene measures after “gastro intestinal infections occurred among passengers.”
In a statement, local emergency services said that 70 passengers had reported feeling ill and received treatment aboard the ship. By late morning, emergency services stated that half of the ill guests had recovered and were able to take part in trips in the port city.
