The Pullmantur Sovereign cruise ship has collided with pier while docking at port of Naples at around 0600 UTC on Wednesday, September 26, upon its arrival from Barcelona.
The vessel has struck San Vincenzo terminal, which is home to local passenger ferries, and is located opposite to cruise ships' Stazione Maritima pier.
The accident has been caused by strong wind in the region. Both the cruise ship and the pier have sustained damages. A number of ferries have been delayed due to the collision.
Pullmantur Sovereign is on a 7-day roundtrip 5 Maravillas del Mediterraneo cruise from Barcelona. On Thursday, it is scheduled to call in port Civitavecchia (Rome, Italy).
