The Chairman of Blue Star Line, Clive Palmer, has confirmed in London that work had recommenced to rebuild a cruise liner that would be nearly identical to the most popular ship of all times, RMS Titanic.
The Titanic 2 project was originally due to be completed in 2016, but was later pushed back until 2018. However, work was suspended in 2015 due to issues with flagship company, Mineralogy.
Palmer confirmed work had resumed on Titanic II project and stated that Blue Star Line would create an authentic Titanic experience, "providing passengers with a ship that has the same interiors and cabin layout as the original vessel, while integrating modern safety procedures, navigation methods and 21st century technology to produce the highest level of luxurious comfort."
The ship would follow the original voyage, carrying passengers from Southampton UK to New York, but would also circumnavigate the globe.
