A new record was set during the spectacular conveyance of AIDAnova from Meyer Werft shipyard in Papenburg to Eemshaven Holland (for the North Sea trials) on October 9, 2018 across Ems River.

The 183,900 GT AIDAnova is by far the largest cruise ship that Meyer Werft has so far transferred on Ems River. The liner is at the same time the world's biggest cruise ship that has ever sailed on such narrow inland waterway.

At the time of her building, AIDAnova is by far the biggest cruise vessel ever built in Germany and the first cruise ship in the world, which can be primarily operated with LNG.
