A 29-year-old man has died after falling aboard a Bahamas Paradise Cruise Line’s ship sailing from Florida to Bahamas.
According to USCG spokesman John Lally, the man had fallen Friday evening, October 19, aboard Grand Classica.
The 1700-passenger ship was en-route from Port Palm Beach to Freeport Bahamas.
In a Palm Beach Post report, John Lally said that Coast Guard crews had met the vessel about 13 miles east of the port and had brought the man back to shore.
The man had been pronounced dead at Florida hospital. Neither his name nor hometown had been immediately released.
In a statement, the cruise company said the cruise ship had continued to Grand Bahama Island after a passenger had been evacuated “due to a medical emergency.”
