San Diego welcomed one of the largest NCL cruise liners being rerouted due to Tropical Storm Willa. The ship Norwegian Bliss entered San Diego Bay just before 7:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 24.
The vessel was supposed to call at a number of Mexico ports but had to be diverted north after Willa moved ashore on Tuesday southeast of Mazatlan as Category 3 hurricane. Ship's original itinerary included as call ports Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlan, Cabo San Lucas.
As a result, over 4,000 passengers disembarked in San Diego.
Hurricane's winds at landfall were estimated 120 mph. The hurricane has since been downgraded to tropical storm.
