Florida’s port Jacksonville set a new record of cruise passengers who have passed through over the last year.
A total of 199,899 cruisers visited JaxPort during the past year, and more than 2.4 million have sailed from port of Jacksonville during the fifteen years of cruising service at the port.
Carnival’s Carnival Elation sails to Bahamas year-round out of Jacksonville. The itineraries include Freeport, Nassau, and company’s private islands in Bahamas, Princess Cays and Half Moon Cay.
Carnival Cruise Line and JaxPort recently signed an agreement to extend line’s service from Jacksonville port through 2021, and potentially 2027. There are several improvements underway at the terminal, as part of the agreement, including new parking area featuring easier access to the terminal, upgraded VIP lounge, and improved boarding platform.
Beginning May next year, Carnival Ecstasy assumes Elation’s 4- and 5-day cruise program.
