Princess Cruises is due to operate its biggest season ever cruising out of the United Kingdom and Europe for 2020. The cruise line will name its new vessel Enchanted Princess in Southampton UK.
Line's ex-UK capacity for 2020 is expected to be 30% more than in 2019, with 3 ships sailing full season from the port of Southampton for the very first time. This amounts to 1.4M cruise nights onboard.
Crown Princess will sail for over 150 days from the port between May and November to the Canary Islands, Mediterranean and northern Europe. Island Princess will spend the period from June through October sailing out of Southampton to northern Europe. Regal Princess will sail from UK’s largest port from May through September.
Princess Cruises’ European capacity will increase by 15% in 2020 on 2019, the cruise line also revealed.
Sky Princess, which launches in 2019, will spend her first spring and summer season in Scandinavia and Russia sailing roundtrip from Copenhagen.
Enchanted Princess will hold her christening ceremony in Southampton UK late June 2020. She will be the first Princess ship to be named in the United Kingdom since Royal Princess back in 2013. The newbuild will sail from the Mediterranean following the naming ceremony.
Princess Cruises’ 2020 program also includes voyages across Asia, Caribbean, Alaska, Canada & New England.
Line's UK-based vessels, Crown Princess and Island Princess, go on sale November 8. Alaska and Japan cruises go on sale November 15.
