River cruise ship operator CroisiEurope will christen newbuild Amalia Rodrigues in Oporto Portugal on March 20, 2019.
Built at the Belgium shipyard Meuse and Sambre, the 3-deck Amalia Rodrigues (sistership to MS Miguel Torga) will be able to accommodate 132 passengers in a total of 66 double-occupancy cabins, which all feature air conditioning systems, twin/double bed, wardrobe, flat-screen TV, hairdryer, safe and private bathroom. 58 cabins with French balconies and large windows will be located on the middle and upper decks, as well as 4 suites. A couple of the suites, with private terraces, will be on the upper deck.
Other onboard facilities will include a restaurant with panoramic windows, lounge, boutique, and a large sun deck with a swimming pool and sun loungers. All venues will be specially decorated with Mediterranean colours.
Amalia Rodrigues is the 6th ship to join the fleet of CroisiEurope on Douro river. From April through October, she will operate 6- and 8-day itineraries from Porto through Douro Valley, visiting Regua, Pinhao, Barca d’Alva, Vega de Terron/Salamanca and Ferradosa.
