A passenger onboard a Holland America cruise ship died after falling into the sea from a tender. The 70-year-old-female traveller passed away at 1:30 p.m. local time on November 7 after being pulled back onboard.
The woman was conscious when she was pulled from the waters off Cook Islands' Avatiu, Rarotonga Island but afterwards lost consciousness on the platform and couldn't be revived by the medical staff at the scene.
According to a statement by Holland America Line, authorities had been notified and company care team counselors had assisted her family and other passengers.
At the time of accident, Holland America ship Maasdam was 10 days into a 2-week voyage of French Polynesia.
