Spas on Cunard liners will be soon rebranded as Mareel Wellness & Beauty - the new spa concept developed via partnership with Canyon Ranch.
Josh Leibowitz, Cunard North America senior vice president, called it "Cunard's first-ever, uniquely conceived spa concept."
Mareel Wellness & Beauty is due to launch exclusively onboard the refurbished Queen Elizabeth ship this month, closely followed by Queen Victoria. Queen Mary 2 will get Mareel spa in November 2020.
According to Cunard, the name Mareel, which means phosphorescence of the ocean, was taken from the ancient Norse language and spoke to the healing energy and illuminating light of the sea.
The entire spa is due to be redesigned. Cunard Line said that the new spa decor would feature hues of blue, pale coral and green.
New offerings on Queen Elizabeth include redesigned fitness center and studio, meditation room with acoustic resonance loungers, couples suite for seaweed bathing rituals, along with sound therapy facilities in all treatment rooms. 'Ocean Discovery' will launch as signature treatment with organic marine-based products.
Mareel Wellness & Beauty will feature enhanced experiences across the daily activity program, including outdoor dance and yoga classes, stretch and daily meditation videos on stateroom TVs, and wellness seminars.
