Lorries overturned on the Ro-Pax ferry European Causeway sailing at Cairnryan (Scotland) in high winds. The accident resulted in smashed cars and emergency response. Bad weather conditions wreaked havoc aboard European Causeway ship Tuesday morning, December 18, with some travellers left trapped in their vehicles because of the damage.
A number of ambulances, fire and rescue service, coastguard and police were sent to the scene at around 7:30 a.m., as the vessel was on its way from Larne, Northern Ireland.
According to the operator all 56 crew and 52 passengers were safely accounted.
No injuries have been reported.
