Broward County’s Port Everglades welcomed Holland America’s newest cruise ship, ms Nieuw Statendam, on her maiden call to the U.S. The ship arrived early yesterday morning (December19) and her inaugural Port Everglades cruise departed at 5:00 p.m. The vessel is due to return on Sunday, December 23.
MS Neiuw Statendam will be officially named on February 2, next year at Port Everglades.
The HAL ship sailed to Port Everglades on a transatlantic journey from Rome (Civitavecchia), which started on December 5. The 99,902GT vessel accommodates 2,666 passengers and is the 2nd ship in line’s Pinnacle class. Neiuw Statendam features purpose-built staterooms for solo travelers and families among her 1,377 guest accommodations.
The cruise line accounted for more than 11.5% of the total number of cruisers who traveled through Port Everglades from October 1, 2017 through September 30, 2018 (FY 2018).
