The arrival of the vessels highlights the ongoing rise of the port as a major tourism hub in the region. Regarded as one of the oldest and most historic ports in Oman, the port of Sultan Qaboos is currently being turned into waterfront destination as part of a US$2 billion (OMR 770 million) project.
