Chic and Nile Rodgers will lead the official celebrations at the christening ceremony for MSC Bellissima on March 2, 2019.
Holly Willoughby will host the naming in Southampton UK before the funk legends hit the stage. Sophia Loren (born 1934 / age 84) will serve as the Godmother and will cut the ribbon to officially name the ship.
Guests will benefit from an exclusive Cirque du Soleil at Sea performance held on the pier ahead of the new partnership of the troupe with MSC Cruises.
The evening’s entertainment will head onboard Bellissima with live music from Leee John and a gala dinner.
The next day, MSC Cruises will invite a total of 3,500 UK and Ireland travel agents to experience the new ship.
After a full day of activities and entertainment, Craig David will round off the party with a hit-laden performance.
MSC Bellissima will depart from Southampton UK on March 4 on her 10-night inaugural voyage to Genoa.
The cruise ship will then run 7-night itineraries in the Mediterranean visiting Genoa, Naples, Valletta, Messina, Barcelona, Marseille from March 17.
