River cruise company U by Uniworld announced it will stop THE B's operation on Seine River after 2019, instead moving the boat to Central Europe. Starting in 2020, THE B will sail out of Brussels to Amsterdam and from Amsterdam to Frankfurt. Sistership THE A operates between homeports Nuremberg and Vienna, and Vienna and Belgrade.
Ellen Bettridge (company's President and CEO) described the decision as "a result of shifting demand." She said that guests wanted to experience new countries and cities every day, something that isn't realistic on Seine River. More details about the 2020 itineraries will be unveiled in the coming weeks.
U is a river cruise company focused on the new generation of tourists. Its cruises include silent discos, karaoke nights, themed parties, mixology classes, drum circles, rooftop barbecues, sunrise rooftop yoga, giant board games, and more. As an additional add-on, passengers can camp on the rooftop and join a U Wine Talk or buy a romance package.
Both 120-passenger riverboats (The A / formerly River Ambassador, and The B / formerly River Baroness) feature two rooftop venues (each), spa, international DJs, professional mixologists, communal dining tables.
