Passengers on all Holland America Line ships can now indulge in a specialty blend created exclusively for the HAL cruise company via partnership with Beukenhorst Coffee USA Inc.
The West Palm Beach, Florida facility of the Dutch coffee house Beukenhorst Koffie has worked with HAL to unveil the new brand "Rotterdam 1873", which is a small-batch roasted coffee blend paying homage to Holland America’s legendary luxury.
Named for the city and the port city Rotterdam and the year HAL was established, Rotterdam 1873 is actually a rich coffee blend of the best Indonesian, Central and South American Arabica coffee beans. It is available by the cup in the revenue venues, while passengers looking to take home a souvenir from the voyage can buy a regular or decaffeinated twelve-ounce bag of Rotterdam 1873 beans in Grand Dutch Cafe and Explorations Cafe.
The coffee blend is roasted fresh in batches in the West Palm Beach facility of Beukenhorst Coffee USA Inc. and supplied to the cruise ships. For over twenty years, Holland America has been offering Beukenhorst Koffie which has been imported from the Netherlands in the Dining Room, Lido Market, and other venues onboard where complimentary coffee is served.
