Rising waters along with ice jams along Hudson River in NYC New York created chaos along the waterway on Friday morning (January 25) when several ships, including the unoccupied cruise vessel, Captain JP III, broke free from its moorings and floated away.
NY State Police said in a series of Twitter posts that the vessels broke loose from their moorings in Troy prior to floating south down the river towards Albany. State police had to close a number of bridges between Troy and Albany during the rush hour as a precaution as the vessels drifted south.
All of the ships were secured by Friday afternoon.
