Silver Discoverer docked at Sundarbans Sunday noon, January 27, with 53 international passengers onboard. Sundarbans is a mangrove area in the delta formed at the confluence of 3 rivers (Brahmaputra, Meghna, Ganges) in Bay of Bengal.
The Silversea travelers are from the USA, Canada, India and Holland. Security in the area has been heightened for the tourists. The ship is due to sail to Dangamari, Charaputia, Alorkol, Harbaria, Karamjal, Hiron Point, Kotka, Kanchikhali and Dubla in Sundarbans through January 30, and is scheduled to leave Sundarbans for Yangon on Thursday, January 31.
Apart from tour operators from India, Myanmar, and Bangladesh, the ship is being managed by Pugmark, Denmark.
Silver Discoverer previously visited Bangladesh twice following the visits to 17 countries last year and is also due to visit Bangladesh twice in 2019.
