The new adults-only cruise brand from Virgin Group, Virgin Voyages, reported that it eliminates non-commissionable fares. The cruise company made the announcement as part of the details on its programs for travel agents which the line released ahead of the 2020 debut of its Scarlet Lady.
No part of booking with Virgin is non-commissionable, the cruise company said, so travel agents can earn across their customer's entire transaction, including on add-ons like hotel stays, flights, voyage protection, spa treatments, shore excursions, any premium package, onboard credits, taxes, and fees.
Other Virgin Voyages' programs for travel agents, that the cruise line developed upon feedback from the travel agent community, includes a base commission of 10% on the transaction. Additionally, all affiliated organizations or travel agents can earn a Red Hot Bonus that is paid annually on sailed revenue up to an additional 6% in case they meet certain production thresholds.
For its clients, the cruise company says that all gratuities will be included in their base cruise fare. Also included will be basic beverages, all eateries, and group fitness classes. Virgin Voyages will not charge penalties or change fees. Customers and travel agents will be able to hold staterooms for 24 hours with no money down once they have placed a 20% non-refundable deposit. They will have a grace period of 7 days during which they are able to change their mind for any reason. Cruise date and names on bookings can be changed without fees or penalties.
